flat.

"Flat as a pancake. Get the picture?"

I've been studying lines for the next show of the summer, A Chorus Line, which starts tomorrow!

Want to know what else is as flat as a pancake?
My tire...
seriously?
seriously...
This happens once every summer I swear. ugh.

But I will say I got very lucky...
1. It became flat while driving on a street in my neighborhood
2. My brother was nice enough to come rescue me and take me to rehearsal.

Allright I know you are all wondering what day 5 of breakfast adventures was...well

Smoothie( 1 scoop chocolate protein, with 1/2 banana, milk, and ice)
Fruit(blueberries and strawberries)
....and a cookie...
haha I'm thinking of it as an opening night gift to myself.

Cause WE OPEN RAGTIME TONIGHT!
will be breaking lots of legs tonight so wish me luck.
xoxo
ACL in the morning
wish.
me.
luck.

Beware of the Duke.

Day 4. Day 4. Day 4.
Peanut Butter and Honey toast...made into a sandwich
Smoothie:
Plain Greek Yogurt
1/2 cup Blueberries
1/2 Banana
1/4 cup strawberries(like 5)
1/4 cup Orange Juice
1/4 cup Milk
1/4 cup water

All yumminess!

So its Monday...the day during the school year that everyone dreads. The day that sneaks up on you after Sunday. Usually I don't really like Mondays. I have nothing against them but I never have been a huge fan of them either. Except for during the summer.
Mondays is the day that the golf course is closed. So I can take my run and bike ride on a different route...meaning I can ride on the golf course and escape my arch nemesis,
 Duke.

I love dogs.
EVERYONE knows that...look

I clearly love dogs.

Except Duke.
Well..Duke isn't his name but that is what I have decided his name will be.
Duke likes to guard the street known as Country Club Drive.
I think Duke is probably a very nice loving dog, but when I am biking for dear life as he is barking and chasing after me.
I do not like that.
This is what Duke looks like.
 Cute...but do not be deceived.
The first time I encountered Duke I literally screamed like someone got shot, but now I creep around the turn before I get to Duke's street to see if he is out on guard or not. If he is, I quickly turn around and go back the other way.
I hope one day to make friends with Duke...but for now we are enemies.
Beware of the Duke.

Also if you were wondering how the gooey bars went over at rehearsal....I am pleased to tell you I have had several marriage offers as well as people kissing my feet. :) I think that means everyone liked them! So I would recommend making them.
NOW

As for the Oatmeal Raisin...I still have some kinks to work out in the recipe before I will be completely happy with them.
so
back to the oven.
xoxo

epic...almost fail.

Ok, I have a confession to make.
I almost caved today...it was SO hard to have something different for breakfast...I almost had cereal and milk but then I heard a voice inside my head say
"NO! Don't do it, be adventurous...try something fun and new."

So I did.
Behold, day three of my breakfast adventures.
Behold Day Three
Blueberries, Strawberries, Raspberries, Blackberries
1/2 Banana
blueberry greek yogurt
topped with:
wheat germ
ground flax
sprinkle Go Lean Cereal
sprinkle of cinnamon(because why not...)
Blended Chocolate Protein...this was a little icy, but I might do it again maybe adding a banana or yogurt

This was a good breakfast. It reminded me of my first semester of college when I would eat fruit and yogurt in my dorm room but wish that I would have had plain greek yogurt instead.  The blueberry yogurt was too sweet, especially with sweet summer fruit. It needed something to cut the sweetness some. But I would love to have this breakfast again. Alas, I must find something new for tomorrow. I'm at least going to go a week of something new every morning. I must make my goal!

I also went on a wonderful bike ride. I was kind of sick of my usual neighborhood route so I decided to be adventurous (after my new breakfast I was feeling brave) and I rode on the real streets! I went to Walgreens and got some ingredients for baking. I rode through the park on the way there and then on the way back I stopped by Kiki's... sadly she wasn't home!
I got this new application on my phone and mapped my ride and ended up doing 7.25 miles!
After that I was a sweaty mess so sorry no picture because you would be too frightened. Just imagine a red sweaty tomato because that's about what I looked like!
So as soon as I got home I dove into the pool and swam for a bit.
It is so nice having the day off! Especially after working 10 hour work days.

This is what happens when you leave "actors" in a hallway filled with baskets for 10 hours.
Fresh air and sunshine was needed today for sure.

Besides playing outside what else do you do on a day off?
BAKE!
I made another batch of "Levain" cookies...except this time I made Oatmeal Raisin. I haven't tasted them yet but they look beautiful.
I know I'm obsessed...no need to tell me.
I would advise you to stop reading now if you are sick of hearing my cookie ranting.
I apologize.
I really can't help it.

The only difference between mine and the Levain cookies, besides them not being "Levain Cookies" is that  I added vanilla and cinnamon to my cookies.  Levain's does not put either of these ingredients into their cookies and when I tried them in NYC the only reason the oatmeal raisin were not my favorite is I think because of the fact they didn't include the vanilla and cinnamon...so I'm hoping that these will be yummy!

I also made Oreo Cream Gooey...GOOEY Bars.
They are not very pretty looking...but sometimes the ugliest goodies are the tastiest!

I found the recipe on Picky Palate, which is a great blog that has so many recipes!
Check it out. Lots of great things worth looking at.

I'm not eating any of them today because I'm taking them to tech tomorrow. I will harass everyone to try them and get taster reviews and let you know how they are. We have another long 10 out of 12 so many sweet treats will be needed and appreciated.
xoxo
Off to clean the kitchen before my mom rips my head off!

Breakfast Adventures.

It is day two of Eloise's Breakfast Adventures and I'm still going strong.
Today's breakfast included:
Ezekiel 4:9 Cinnamon Raisin Bread(with more cinnamon sprinkled on after toasting)
Scrambled Egg White
with
Blueberries and Strawberries
and water.

I LOVED this breakfast!
I'm usually not into eggs and toast for breakfast because it doesn't fill me up. But today this did. I was fully fueled for my run and bike ride.

Then I proceeded to have a protein shake, apple and some popcorn(of course) after my run/ride and now am off to tech.
Hopefully this will go pretty fast
Tech days are always the longest!
please pray

Day off tomorrow...
baking
baking

so excited!

Day One.

Day one of being adventurous:
Here it is
1/3 cup of Kodiak Cake mix
1/3 cup water
with oatmeal
ground flax
and wheat germ
cinnamon
Stir all these ingredients you may need to add more water depending on how "cakey" you want your pancake to be.
Then heat up a small frying pan on medium heat
spray a little nonstick spray onto the pan
pour 3/4 batter into pan
lay sliced banana's evenly onto pancake
top the pancake with rest of batter
cook 2 minutes, or until bubbles begin to form on pancake
flip
cook for 2 more minutes, or until desired crispness

top with:
more cinnamon
1 tablespoon peanut butter
maple syrup
Heat up the pancake with all toppings in microwave for 30 seconds
then ENJOY!

YUM! This was a great filling breakfast, that was fast and easy but fueled me through my bike ride this morning.
and also through the Harry Potter movie.

Yes, I know that it makes me a grandma for going to the Harry Potter movie at 10:45 in the morning but...that was the only time we could see it!
The movie made us laugh, cry, sob, smile, and was great closure to the movies they had made! To say I loved it would be an understatement!
So go see the Harry Potter movie if you haven't already!

I'm also going to bake up another batch of Levain Copy cat cookies soon...what kind should I do?
chocolate peanut butter
oatmeal raisin
oatmeal chocolate chip
chocolate chip

or should I make something adventurous and new...?

                                                    Hummm? Help me decide.
                                                                       xoxo

Breakfast.

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day.
It is also the MOST important
Sadly every morning I eat the same thing for breakfast...
Cereal with fruit, and a protein shake.
same food
every day
boring
boring
could I be more boring.

This morning as I was shoveling my cereal into my mouth, I looked at my bowl and realized I was sick of eating the same boring breakfast....

I want something:
yummy
healthy
easy
and filling...

Any Ideas?

So my goal for today is to search for delicious breakfast ideas, I will post them tomorrow. :) Get excited!
xoxo
Also if you weren't able to sleep last night because you were worrying about my blueberry crisp
It turned out perfectly crispy.
Bravo.

Pined.

I said that I wouldn't give in...and I did...dang Pinterest.
The site is addicting, DO NOT GO TO IT(go to it!)

Like I need one more thing in my life to distract me...well I found one!

Speaking of distractions...anyone find that they have been distracted so much by the fun of summer to even realize that it is already July 13...
meaning the Harry Potter movie comes out on Friday.
I can't use the birthday excuse anymore... :(
Summer is more than half over...depressing.
The word school doesn't even exist in my vocabulary.
Especially when I just baked up a batch of Levain copycat cookies....
I'm a mad cookie scientist....they taste just like the real cookies...i'm dying. literally!
Excuse the lighting. I took the picture at night.
Did I mention they featured me on their Facebook page.
When my Aunt and Uncle ordered the cookies for my birthday, they talked to the owner of Levain and told them about my blog and she actually read it.

AHHHHHHHH!
I seriously am obsessed...don't even doubt for a second that I am not going to apply for a job there when I move to NYC!
My cookies are a problem...sometimes I hate myself for baking.
but then I think again...and look at the delicious masterpieces in front of me and smile!
So smile today and appreciate all that is in front of you.
xoxo
Say a prayer for my next attempt at blueberry crisp tonight.

Life is Good.

Thank you EVERYONE involved with Hairspray!
What an amazing show and such a great experience.
So.
Much.
Fun.
All good things must come to an end. Boo hoo.

But
life is still so GREAT.
Like these "life is good" T-shirts my sister and I bought the other day.
They matched our personalities perfectly so we decided it would be a crime to pass on the purchase.
(And it was buy one get one 50% off!)
Balance
for the sister.
The life is good guy is in a "teaser" which is a pilates position.
This is so perfect for her since she is a pilates teacher.

Bike for me
of course.
My sister is my other half
but she actually has another half
literally.
If you didn't already know, my brother and sister are twins.

Although I have never felt left out by not having a twin,
I have always secretly wanted to be one.

And at last I have finally found her!
meet:
AMY!

She is our ASM(assistant stage manager) this summer and my newfound twin!
We run on the same wavelength.
Here are just some of our twin-like qualities:
1. We are picky eaters
2. We love to read food blogs
3. We like working out
4. We wear glasses
5. Amy is from England and I wish I were from England :)
(I should find out if Amy is a bad speller like me...then it might be freaky how similar we are!)
and most importantly
6. WE LOVE SWEETS!

We are such twins!
Amy's parents came to see Hairspray and they brought along British chocolate and she gave me some!
Yum.
The British know their chocolate.
One more reason to move to England.

xoxo
More to come
on the Ragtime play
which starts rehearsals this week.
:)

HAPPY to Be bad!

Happy Birthday America!
Also
Happy Papa Day to all!!

Papa is my Grandpa!
He celebrated his birthday along with America.
As the most selfless person I know he was always happy to share his birthday with America.

Sometimes I do bad things.

Like
Not make my bed
Or
Eat dessert with my breakfast
Or
Forget to check my phone...

ever.

Don't even ask about checking Facebook.
:)
whoops.
I'll get to it next life.

I'm not a bad person, I just do bad things sometimes.

Like thinking I remember the Blueberry Crisp recipe off the top of my head...but realize when the "crisp" has been baking in the oven for 35 minutes and instead of turning into a crisp it has become a pool of blueberries...that maybe I got it wrong.

uh oh.

nothing a little improvising and name changing can't fix.

When the Blueberry Crisp you are suppose to bring to "Soul Food Thursday" doesn't crisp up it can easily become:
Brown Sugar Blueberry Sauce
(served atop vanilla bean ice cream)
No one will ever know.

I also forget to blog sometimes.
I am really tying to be a committed blogger. Like the other blogs I read. For example, Kath.
She blogs three times a day, owns a bread company, and takes amazing photos of everything she eats and makes...I don't know how she does it.
I'm working on it.

We are in the mist of tech! The show opens Tuesday!
Here is a pic of our set:
 Costume pictures to come soon!

xoxo
Bake some Patriotic treats to celebrate the 4th!

Need Ideas?
